B&Q Tool Hire, operated in partnership with Speedy Hire, allows customers to book tools online for rent via diy.com. The rental catalogue spans power tools including drills, saws, sanders and breakers; garden tools such as hedge trimmers, brushcutters, tillers and rotavators; site equipment including plate compactors, cement mixers, ladders and scaffolding; cleaning equipment such as pressure washers and carpet cleaners; and climate control equipment like heaters, dehumidifiers and air conditioning units. Hire periods are fixed as either a weekend (Friday to Monday) or a full week (seven days), with some equipment restricted to week-only hire.

To rent, customers select items on diy.com, choose their hire duration, and complete payment. Speedy Hire then calls within four working hours (Monday to Friday, 7:30am–5pm) to confirm delivery and collection dates. Deliveries and collections occur Monday to Friday, between 7:30am–3pm for delivery and 12pm–5pm for collection. Orders placed before noon on a weekday qualify for next-day delivery, subject to availability. Delivery and collection are included in the hire price with no deposit required. All equipment is inspected and tested before rental. The renter must be aged 18 or over and present with valid photo ID on delivery. Damage during hire should be reported to Speedy Hire on 0345 646 1908; repairs or replacements will be assessed.
