Bolt Micromobility Europe

Bolt is an Estonian mobility platform offering e-scooter sharing in 100+ European cities. Zero unlock fee model makes it the most affordable for short rides. Active across Germany, Baltic states, Eastern Europe and beyond.

Bolt operates electric scooter sharing across more than 30 European cities. Customers download the Bolt app, locate nearby scooters on an in-app map, scan a QR code to unlock, and begin riding. The service offers flexible pricing: pay-as-you-go starting from €0.15 per minute, monthly passes from €0.99, or time-based passes with bulk discounts. Scooters can be reserved for up to 30 minutes before riding.

The rental process requires no deposit or upfront commitment—users simply unlock a scooter when needed and return it anywhere within the service area. For new riders, Bolt enforces beginner mode, capping speed at 15 km/h for the first five rides. In most cities, scooters have a maximum speed of 25 km/h and are limited to single riders; tandem riding is detected and penalized. Helmets are strongly recommended but not mandatory. Riding on pavements is generally not permitted; users are directed to bike lanes or designated roads.

Bolt scooters are compatible with shared charging docks that the company operates in various cities, designed to hold up to ten scooters and minimize street clutter. The latest Bolt 7 model features a colour handlebar display showing maps and permitted parking zones. All rides are made through the Bolt mobile app available on iOS and Android.
