Swapfiets operates a bike and e-bike subscription service across eight European countries. Customers choose from four bike models: the Original and Deluxe 7 (traditional bikes starting from €15.70 and €18.90 per month respectively), and the Power 1 and Power 7 e-bikes (from €64.90 and €79.90 per month). All bikes are assembled in Europe and feature distinctive blue bands, dual locks, and integrated lighting.

To rent, subscribers sign up online and either pick up their bike at a Swapfiets store or request home delivery. In participating service areas, Swapfiets offers same-day repairs in-store or home service appointments booked via their mobile app. If a repair cannot be completed within 10 minutes, the customer receives a replacement bike. Monthly subscriptions include unlimited repairs and maintenance at no extra cost. The company offers theft coverage as an optional add-on; if a bike is stolen while properly locked, customers pay a set amount (determined by bike model) and receive a replacement.

Subscriptions require one month's notice to cancel, though loyalty memberships require six months before the option to cancel becomes available. Customers can manage their account, book repairs, and track service through the Swapfiets mobile app, available on iOS and Android. The company operates retail locations in major cities across its service regions and has over 280,000 members. Swapfiets is B Corp certified and emphasizes sustainability through bike durability and recycling programs.
